Mnandi Popularity?

Hi all,

The Mnandi seems to be enjoying popularity the last year or so that I don't recall in the past. It is one of my most liked CRK models - I have a few or them.

I would be curious to get your thoughts on why the knife seems to be in such strong demand lately.

Thanks.

I bought mine (all 9 of them :D) in 2008 - 2009.

My favorite CRK model. Little gems, every one of them.

Why they are more in demand than before? I have no idea, but I do notice that my two "sources" for CRK's (TNK & Knifeart) seem to be out of Mnandis!

Kind regards,

Jos

because it's a small, good looking, functional, non threatening looking knife with the best specs in the business. Nothing tactical etc about it. something you can carry and get admiring looks from from non knife people at the same time.
with lots of beautiful options for the inlays and it's a mean slicer.

yeah, I love it too :)

I really think it's a production issue. CRK is now producing no less than five standard models of folding knives (large Sebenza, small Sebenza, Mnandi, Umnumzaan, and Ti-Lock), along with variations of the Sebenzas ( tanto, StarBenza) and 'Zaan (tanto, Startac). I have seen a recent upsurge in enthusiasm for CRK knives, which may be a contibuting factor.

Everyone quit being so dang enthusiastic over CRK's so I can buy more.

TNK just got a bunch of mnandi's in very nice!

Yeah. But the nicest ones are already sold!

That damascus id gorgeous.
There is another damascus/mammoth that sold on TNK's too that is awesome. I am beginning to believe that I will never find a "nice" mammoth/ivory/bark damascus Mnandi.

You all must have had some fun back in the day when there weren't so many enthusiastic buyers....those were probably some great times!

I have been watching that site for a year waiting for some new stuff. I picked up one of those mammoth barks from TNK today, you just do not see mammoth bark offered very often. Now I have to sell something from the collection to cover the cost. Still a good day, thanks for the heads up that they got some new items in.

Bought and sold two - one in Walnut, one in Ebony.

It was a cash shortage both times, and I wish I hadn't parted with them.

As it happens, I am thinking of selling stuff and getting a DI one now.

Lovely things but, like all CRK items, best when the bling is set to zero :)

Which one did you pick up? How about posting a pic.

This was my third choice, the first two were already sold that are pictured above. I'm excited to add this one to my collection

Thanks, I have always admired the mammoth bark that looks really old and has cracks and dark colors. I think I will enjoy opening this one when Fedex stops by on Wednesday.
