Mnandi question about the lighter color wood inlays

Can the wood inlays change in color from repeated use? Or are the inlays treated and the oils/dirt from the hands won't affect it as such?

I don't think they have varnish on them as i have seen renaissance wax being put on the inlays on the chris reeve dvd, was may protect them for a bit, reapply every so often.

Ive carried this Box Elder from Maine to Spain - no discoloration at all.

I have a bark ivory mammoth mnandi and a 2006 LE large California Buckeye Burl and both got darker and the grain got more pronounced with wear. I would say that the oils on the hands will effect the lighter color woods and ivory inlays. And IMO not a bad effect either!

Thanks for the info everyone. Was curious if the very light box elder inlays got darker. Seems they hold up pretty well.
