I've never actually held one of these but It would appear that it requires two hands to open, unless
you hold it by the blade and give it a good snap. Something I'm not to keen on doing. If ya click on the link you'll see it is a rather tempting purchase. I mean the price is silly but it looks pretty damn nice. Can Iopen this with one hand? http://truenorthknives.com/tnk_gallery-p-CR00619.htm

Jeffrey,
yes you can open it with one hand, the indent in the blade acts just the same as a thumbstud in giving your thumb something to push on. The Mnandi is indeed one sweet little tool.

Jeffry... I saw that same Mnandi a few days ago on TNK and was going to post a link here because it looked so good. That is one of the best looking Mnandi's I have seen. If I didn't have a numbered one, I would be very tempted to pick it up. The wood is great looking and with the damascus blade the whole package is sweet.

BTW... Yes you can open with one hand. Takes a bit of practice if you are used to the thumbstud. More like a hole opener, you just sweep your thumb across the indent/nail nick and open. It is made to be opened like that.

That picture could really hurt a guys wallet. I thought I would be able to avoid the Mnandi. Must...resist.
