Ok, I bought A CR flat ground Sebenza a little over three years ago. After getting over the initial worrying phase, I started using it. I now don't feel dressed unless it is residing in it's leather case in my pocket! ;-) (my second leather case is about wore out by the way) Well lately I've been thinking I 'need' something a little more upscale... A Sunday go to meeting kind of knife. Heres the thing, I refuse to use a pocket clip, I know the Mnandi's is removable/reversible, But I wonder how hard would it be to fasten some sort of bail in it's place (kinda like William/Henry Knives) so I could use a lanyard? Actually my first choice would be an Umfaan but until they are reserrected...Ah well. Has anyone done this?? Not having been able to hold one does it look feasible? Thanks Grizz

welcome to the forums!

the mnandi should come with a leather pouch- so that may help?

Early mnandi prototypes had leather lace lanyards attached around the rear spacer. Perhaps something like that would work for you?

Johnny, thanks for the tip. Do the current models have enough room to do the same thing without interfereing with the opening and closing of the blade? If it does looks like as soon as the Christmas bills ease up I'll be making a call to Idaho.

Grizz, I honestly don't know. You could try giving CRK a call and see what they say. If you are really set on attaching a lanyard and there isnt enough room on current mnandis, I'm sure they can grind the blade a tiny bit shorter to accommodate.

I bought a Mnandi just this week from NGK, and it did not come with a pouch.

I think the leather pouch only comes with the "premium" wood versions.

I think that is correct. My Mnandi is bloodwood. I think I will order a pouch from CRK.

I've tried to attach a lanyard to the rear spacer of a Mnandi, but it didn't work very well, and was ugly anyway. If anyone comes up with a better idea, I'd be glad to hear it.
