I was just reading a 'what's in your pocket(s)' thread here tonight and saw a picture of this Benchmade knife, which I noticed for the first time looks very much like my (well any, I guess) Mnandi.

I don't own any Benchmade knives, but this one looks like a cross between a Delica and a Benchmade.

I love my ironwood mnandi that I bought on bladeforums nearly a year ago, also shown below.

I'm not really sure what you are seeing, the AFCK in my opinion looks and is not at all similar to the Mnandi

I'm not suggesting one was inspiration for the other, but just that they (mostly blade) look alike. The upward ramping jimping on the spine, the overall blade shape...

Not sure about the size of the BM (I just have a Mnandi) but I see the similarity in the two also.

I sort of see what you are saying. The general blade shape looks similar, but totally differnt grind. I willing to bet that if you had both in hand you would think the Benchmade is nothing like your Mnandi.

I like the background for your Mnandi pic. :) My older son graduated from college this spring... We spent a lot of time building elaborate Brio railway layouts. :)

Yeah, I can see the overall shape similarities between the two. Don't think I would have come to that on my own, but seeing the photos side by side like that, I can see it. Of course, the Mnandi is considerably smaller than the BM, especially if that's a full sized AFCK which is almost 10 inches long overall.
