I found one locally, was just wondering if I am a fool if I pass it up, they are only asking $260 for it with box and birthday card. It is in great shape. I think I read somewhere the snakewood was discontinued? Thanks for your help and enabling. o_O:D

Definitely make sure it’s real, that’s almost half of what they retail for.

It absolutely seems legit to me. Is their anything specifically that would give it away as a fake? Thanks guys.

Besides the precision of the fit including the inlays in the pockets, the centering of the blade closed, and mirror polish on every part of the clip (top side and beneath inside), there are holes visible inside the frame: One at the end of the lock bar relief cut and one on the presentation side directly opposite. Those would be used to remove inlay's (and prevent stress on titanium from lock bar flex).

Look at some pics of the Snakewood Mnandi I have here as reference:

The seller has all of a sudden become real shady. I’m out in this one. Thanks for your help. I have collected Spyderco my entire life and have just begun to get into CRK. All of the information and learning I get here has been great. I’ll still be on the lookout for a Mnandi.

Sounds like maybe he knows it's fake. :(

Maybe he realized it was worth more and doesn't want to sell it to you anymore.

I have no idea, This is mainly the reason I only buy from here and reputable dealers though!

If it’s too good to be true it usually is.

For the record any real mnandi that is in great shape is worth at least $260. Would have to be a defect not to be.

With the Impinda being announced, I really think I might like it more as a smaller gentleman knife instead. I have had small 2.5-2.75” blades before and have always sold them because they never got carried. I need to do some hard thinking, because yes the Mnandi is a beautiful looking knife, but will I actually carry it? I might sit on this and think long and hard..

Likely can't go wrong no matter which you choose and if you find you did make a bad decision CRK's turn over very well in the exchange.
of course there is the standard BF answer-buy both:)
