they're obviously different knives, but since they're the same price...which is better for an EDC?

I picked the Mnandi. Main reason is that the clip is so well designed I can clip it to my pocket and not attract any notice. In fact I've had many people ask to borrow my Mnandi thinking it was a pen.

My Mnandi opens one-handed with no problem. As for which is the better EDC, I guess it depends on what you want in a knife. I really like the small Seb and I like the Mnandi too. The Mnandi is way tougher than it looks. If SD is your concern go with the small Seb.

I would go with the small Sebbie. It's a little more robust than the Mnandi and therefore able to handle tougher chores that may arise. As to your question re: deployment, I think the Mnandi is considered a one-hander.

oh, i gotcha. well, "SD" really isn't a concern of mine, but a good thought nonetheless. anybody got anything else on the topic. i'm curious as to what the mnandi feels like in the hand...

oh, i see now. that other pic is difficult to tell, but the big one helps. that pic really brings out the stonewash in the blade, very nice.

Comparing the two I would have to say that the Mnandi is the more ergonomic than the Seb, a more comfortable feel to it. The Seb is more tactical while the Mnandi is more gentlemanly. The Mnandi is more sheeple friendly and the small Seb less so. If you could go to a knife shop and handle both you could see what suits your purposes better. Pesonally, off work I go for the large Sebenza as a "just in case" knife and the Mnandi without the pocket clip for my "beater". It seems to me to carry the small Seb and the Mnandi together is rather redundant. At work I go for my Mayo baby hawk clipped to my scrub top pocket and my Leatherman Micra in my fanny pack.    ;) :p

...popular for his "TNT" (titanium 'n talonite) folders, many of which are characterized by holes drilled in the handles; addition of this type of hole design to another folder is called "Mayonizing".
Please correct me if I've mispoken; I don't own any of Tom's folders.
