does anybody know how many diff kinds of wood have been used so far on this knife?

looks to be a nice one and can't wait to see it:D

Cool! I have a small limited edition wood inlay of snakewood 2003 model. I also have a Mnandi on order with blue mammoth ivory. I'm not sure how many woods were used, I've seen or heard of about at least 5 or 6.:D  ;) :p  :)

ranger, i collected all the umfans and have about 6 small seb's, 1 large. this is my first Mnandi.

scott, post your mammoth ivory when you get it! bet it will blow your socks off:cool:

I have one of the special Mnandis that were made up for Knifeart.com with the Redwood burl. It's pretty damn nice!

Hi
I own a beautiful Zebrawood Mnandi but it is too nice to use for edc.
Like you I just love the Umfaan.

idahoskunk - I know how you feel; I have a snakewood Mnandi on order, too. I'm trying not to think too much about it ... ;)

Skunk and Nathan,

You are going to really like the snakewood Mnandi. I have carry one now. Not only is the wood great looking, but I figured if it is durable enough to take the inlay, it is probalbly less prone to breakage than another wood.

Congratulations - these are great knives that you can still open and close with one hand.

Here are the woods I can recall seeing on Mnandis advertised here and there:

ziricote
ebony
macassar ebony
bocote
tambouti (the one I carry)
snakewood
desert ironwood
cocobolo
box elder
Indian rosewood
Madagascar rosewood
African blackwood

I'm sure there are others, too!
