Mnandi with a Thumb stud?

I have a new Mnandi, but I also have very large paws and find it difficult to manipulate (open) the knife with one hand.
I am trying to trade for a lightly used Sebbie, but the reaction has been less than spectacular.
I am now thinking of installing a thumb stud and was wondering if anyone has ever done this before?
The actual installing does not bother me, I was just wondering if the modification would make it easier to open the knife.
Any thoughts welcome.

you should buy one of those clamp on one hander buttons first, if that works then dod surgery.

Hey, I have a small regular BG42 Sebenza w/dual thumblugs that I'll swap you for your Mnandi. My Sebbie is a little more than "lightly used", but if you're interested, I'm sure we can work something out. Shoot me an email at nspicer@tin.it

I'd avoid installing a stud if I were you. Once you do that you would void the warranty (I assume) and make the Mnandi that much more difficult to sell or trade.

Thanks for the input.
I suspect that it is not the knife that is too small, more like my right hand is showing the effects of many years of hard work and abuse as she don't want to work like she used to!
I actually find that I can open the knife easier with my left hand.
If installing a stud turns a drawer queen into a usable knife, the drop in trade/market value is justified as far as I am conserned.

Oupa,

Aside from the warranty issues - a thumb stud would change the aesthetics of the knife. IMO, to the negative. One-hand opening is not for everybody on the Mnandi, but it is an awesome knife if even considered a nail knick opener.

Why not carry and use the knife for a while then decide about the thumbstuds? Easier to add later than to try and undo.

Sir, you have a valid point.
Cannot argue with that.
Thanks.
