Are there any photos of a Mnandi before the wood\carbon fiber inlays are attached? Are there cutouts in the titanium scales like on a sebenza or are they glued directly to the flat scale? Like others have mentioned in the past, a plain jane Mnandi would be a nice balance between gentlemanly and userly! 😜

A pj or micarta version would definitely be appealing. I'm not really a fan of wood on folders.

I've sometimes dreamed of a mnandi with micarta. Then I wake up and resolve to skip the extra cookies before bedtime 🤣

I have a Mnandi with the box elder handle inlays but a micarta inlay version sounds interesting. I would really like to get one of the carbon fiber versions but I am very happy with the wood handle inlays.

The CF is a very nice one... kind of a "proof of concept" that mnandi inlays don't HAVE to be wood.

Didn’t CRK release a Mnandi with some sort of white/ivory looking plastic inlays earlier this year? They actually looked pretty good as well.

I have a 2010 Mnandi with mammoth ivory inlay, definitely has a different character than bog oak!

I had the bog oak, box elder and ebony before going to the Cf. I wont go back to wood. To be honest if I ever find the CF/ Damascus I’m hunting it may very well be the last knife I buy! Unless of course mikeymoto mikeymoto feels an overwhelming need to sell that mammoth ivory one….

I think a mnandi without inlays would look weird...

But I would not say no to a mnandi with slightly thicker scales and Unique graphics...

A Mnandi with CF inlays and a Damascus blade would be a keeper for sure!

I realized I didn’t address the original question in the OP.
The scales have a milled recess that the inlays go into. There is at least 1 video out there somewhere that show them being applied. Also a few years ago someone here redid a mnandi with copper inlays…very sweet.

Yes, an ivory look-alike, since real ivory is a no-no. It is an attractive one, I agree.

I carried a box elder burl inlaid mnandi for a long time and never noticed any issues with the wood. Seemed pretty darn tough and I liked the feel. Wish I had NOT sold it. The lesson is, just because I put it in a drawer for year doesn’t mean I wouldn’t take it back out. It would be in my pocket today!

Had the Mammoth out so I could get the slabs DLC'd.
