Tonight is the last time you will be able to see ABC's Monday Night Football
ESPN bought the rights to broadcast on Mondays.

I can remember Howard Cosell and Don Meridith and Al Michaels all broadcasting important games. Like the Bears losing to the Dolphins for there only loss that year. (Was that really 20 yrs ago????)

So adios MNF, now mondays the TV will be turned off.

I didn't realize that. Oh well, I'd still watch. Football is football regardless if it's ABC or ESPN broadcasting.

They're going to replace it with "Wednesday Night Bingo". :p

There still is going to be a televised game on Monday night, thats all that matters.

I loved this weekend. Games both saturday and sunday and since it was Christmas, I didnt' feel guilty about laying around watching ALL weekend!

More likely with another Poker show. Last night there were 4 stations showing poker, and I only have basic plus cable, not 300 stations.

Yeah, I watched it last night... I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a little more "whooped-up". I will certainly miss Al Michaels and John Madden. I think those two are some of the finest announcers ever. Does anyone know WHO is going to be the announcers for ESPN's version of MNF? I hope it isn't the three phucktards that do their Sunday night games. I cannot stand them... when they were doing the Bears/Falcons game, I was apoplectic listening to those idiots. I mean, come on... Paul dick-head McGuire said at least three times "someone is going to get killed out there"!:jerkit: :thumbdn:  :grumpy:  Joe Theisman just doesn't cut it... he's not even as good an announcer as he was a QB. The third guy sucks so bad, I cannot even remember who it is. My only wish is that ESPN would pony up the $$$$ and get Michaels and Madden. I think that after one season of the three doofi that they will do so.

Good riddence. I can't think of anything more boring than watching someone else play a game. Especially football. I mean c'mon, three hours of coverage for 15-20 minutes of game play? No wonder so many people drink while watching football - they're bored out of their minds.

But I bet it's no worse than whatever mindless crap replaces it...

Next year, the Sunday night game will be on NBC. They have hired Madden. Not sure who he'll be in the booth with.

Al Michaels will remain the main sports commentator for ABC...doing basketball and other "sports" (like figure skating, etc).

Next year, Monday Night Football will be on ESPN. The good news is they are canning Paul McGuire. Theismann will be sticking around in the booth, sorry!

You an AMERICAN Bob? I'm sending some of Sen. McCarthy's boys out to interview you.

I dont watch tv, much less football. . . I think televised sports are about as interesting as watching paint dry.

But at least with paint there arent any annoying commercials and commentators. And with paint fumes, there is no need for beer either;)

Can't ABC buy the rights back in the futur? Of course with all the dishes even alot of regual people are no longer tied to regual tv stations and these cabel stations will probaly get bigger.
Anyway some day Brett Farve wont be playing any more (come on AT LEAST one more year man) and that will change the way I watch football more then the loss of MNF.
