Greetings Busse Gents and Ladies,

Can someone tell me if the MOABOLO's recurve is less than 2 inches in blade height? Also, can someone tell me if the belly of the blade is greater than 2 inches in blade height? The angle of the picture makes it difficult to see if this blade is bigger than a NMFBM. I know it's thicker, but is the blade height greater than 2 inches. Finally, does the blade weigh more than a NMFBM/Killa Zilla 2/ FFBM? Thanks guys!!

I would guess, take the dimensions of a regular (that is funny :)) MOAB and grind it to the BOLO shape and it will be close.

Rob,

I agree with Big Dave, but I asked Pokey for another picture just in case she's willing to hook us up!

Thanks guys! Well that's what I'm hoping for at least. Working with the dimensions of a MOAB blank and grinding it down to the MOABOLO sounds awesome. I'm curious to see if the weight comes in at around 33 oz. I guess we'll have to see.

It's not as thick as the MOAB, but at .345 thick and with an 11 inch blade I reckon it'll be a monster chopper!

Isn't the MOAB 13" long blade?
The MOABLO has the length of NMFBM, if it is in the 33 oz range it will be pretty sweet chopper IMHO

Looks more similar to a NMFBM to me but it is hard to tell from the picture.

This is interesting; is the MOABOLO just a recurved NMFBM or does it have a higher blade which in my eyes makes a whole lot of difference? To say it like it is; i`m not ordering one if i`ts just a recurved NMFBM- and i`m not ordering without knowing what it is. Busse Crew??

As far as I'm aware no NMFBMs are .345 thick. This appears to be a skinny MOAB variant or a completely new model.

Yep I checked Bad Mojo and the first one posted was listed at 13", the ones after @14".
Man I'll have to get one of those beasts, they are just too good not to.

I think the early versions were 13". The one I have (2009 model) is 14.25". It certainly is a beast!!!

I called and asked Lexi a similar question. She went and asked Jerry and he said it's impossible to explain. I would just have to see it for myself. Ha! When I spoke with Jerry in the same call he said the bolo in the name is not an abbreviation. It is Mother of all Bolos. after the Bolo style knives. He said he wasn't even drinking when he came up with it  Not sure if that's a good or bad thing but I'm getting one! Anyways, this may not completely answer your question but I figured a little more info couldn't hurt.

It really is great that on one of their busiest days, Lexi and Jerry take the time to get on the phone and help out. I know we are customers and that's what they should do. However they do it with Grace.
Good luck to all!

Heavens! You bet it would.

If I was a Victorian aristocrat instead of an aging scientist, I'd say I was getting "the vapors!"

How did I miss this. Love that recurve.

I certainly have more than enough choppers, and haven't even been able to pick up an ASHBM yet; but now I want a MOABOLO. :o:rolleyes:

I really think the MOABOLO is a must --- now ask me how many times I've said that . . .

The Moabolo is making me seriously think about selling the rest of my choppers with the exception of the FBM LE and NMFBM-they are simply awesome-The Moabolo is much thicker than the NMFBM and her curves are beautiful-They are however a Handful and Heavy-YUUUUMMMY
