Mobile device bugs

I haven't been on the forum much for two reasons, 1) time and 2) I keep getting redirected to a blank site.

I'm either getting redirected or I get a pop-up asking for authentication. I screen capped what I'm seeing below.

It took me about 20min to navigate and post this without getting any bugs. I'm using an iPhone 5s, but I don't remember having the same problem on my iPad.

Advice?

I clear them quite often, but haven't thought that it might be the problem. I'll try that out.

A while back I was getting Car & Driver popups here all the time. Had quite a few other issues exclusive to my phone, just haven't said anything:D

Thanks Esav:thumbup:

Car and Driver popups on bladeforums? Phombo isn't related to us either.

Interesting. Does this happen when you are logged in? What pages does this occur on, in threads or on every page?

Sometimes I will lurk without logging in. I get the same thing pop up except for the authentification prompt. It will open the app store. It does not seem to matter which thread I open and never the same app twice.
-close the app store
-open Safari and tap back button, then continue lurking

That sounds like a banner ad hijacking. Are you browsing through tapatalk or safari?

I was able to use UC Browser and Chrome from my Motorola Droid Turbo with no issues - the first visit I get a tapatalk banner, which I just close and move on.

The site works in both mobile and desktop modes.

thanks -

I think it seems to happen when I'm logged out, but I'll take note next time. It happens to me all over the forum. I'm using safari, by the way.

I don't browse anything on my phone related to motortrend, phombo, etc. It's odd, because I cleared cookies this morning and the problem was still there when I peeked at the forums on my lunch break. I don't remember using safari for anything other than BF after I cleared them.

Sorry, it was a MotorTrend popup that I had a while back. Close enough... In the pic below, I was offline so maybe that has something to do with it?

I get it only when logged out. Once it starts, it redirects every page I go to.

Ok, so if you are logged in you aren't seeing this. Sounds like a malicious banner ad might be hijacking your browser, as mobile ads are prone to this sort of hijacking. We have certain banners that only show to people who are not logged in, so this seems like the likely culprit

I have an iphone 6. I'm not sure if this will solve it but;

settings > safari > advanced settings
clear website data and turn off java script.

I have the same problem. This just started happening. I get a pop up all the time now. I never had this problem with the website before. It is very annoying.

Please fix this. Simply turning Java off is not the answer. I get redirect every 2 seconds.

Yea, it didn't work for me either.

When I'm at home and connected to my personal network, everything works fine. When I'm out and using the mobile network is when I seem to have problems.

Very strange...

I get the same thing on my iphone when I am not logged in. I haven't tried it logged in since I usually just browse on my phone. It started happening about 3 days ago, maybe 4.

I don't get this from any other sites I frequent on my phone and if I had to guess I would say its a malicious ad redirecting you to buy some garbage app or something. A whois on teh domain shows its owner is in Germany and a google search shows others on forums reporting issues with this site redirecting their browser. The other reason I believe its a bad ad is that I can browse some threads. If it happens it usually takes about one second after I click a thread and it starts to load. Also since this is likely a redirect clearing cookies and that stuff isn't going to help. I think its time to look into an ad blocking plugin for safari.

Ok, I'm digging deeper on this. I believe it's some malicious ads coming in through the sovrn banners that were recently added. I've put in a tech support ticket with them and taken some action to see what happens. If this continues, I'll disable sovrn ads entirely.
