I am considering purchasing this knife. I have always liked MOD but have always just stuck to their fixed blades. I did a search on the knife and found a negative review on the auto version. Problem is, it only focused on the inadeqecey(MS?) of the spring but not about the blade and such. I just want to know how well the manual version is, since I can never legally possess any autos.

I was wondering about that model myself. I just recently purchased a Magnum (Boker) Kalishnikov 74. It too has a push button lock. I had mine converted to an auto and I was thinking of doing the same with one of the newer MOD folders. I have read a few reviews (mostly negative) on the 685/875 series folders. I am a bit worried because the MOD catalog states that their warranty will not cover "flicking" your knife open. If I convert mine into an auto, it will mimic the flicking action. I'm not so worried about the warranty as I am my knife falling apart. :(

I can convert it for less than the price of the auto. I also can install more powerful springs. SNAP! :)
