I have a black Mk V with a non-serrated A-2 blade which I ordered from Finer Points Cutlery. I thought it might be chisel-ground, from every photo I've seen of it, but luckily it wasn't. It is a stock removal blade, but it is very finely machined.
The only thing I don't like is the plastic ("Prylon") sheath. I hate sheaths that aren't leather, which is why I like Pumas. I sometimes buy a knife just to have the sheath that it comes with.
I bought the Mk V strictly for its nasty look. The upper edge has an obtuse angle and probably cannot be sharpened by a casual user as myself. A professional could probably do it though. I would be afraid of messing it up.
The gritty inserts in the handle are strips of abrasive tape, similar to the kind that provide traction on cement stairsteps.
