I recently purchased this mark 1 qcd and all of the ones I have seen in videos and stuff have a glass breaker right next to the blade on the front of the knife. This one does not even have a hole where it is supposed to be I was wondering if any of you know anything about it, is it just an early model of something before they added a glassbreaker. And its not the blackhawk version its the real masters of defence one.

They were available with and without the glass breaker. There were quite a few variations, actually. (about 12 different variations that I know of)

Google is your friend...Masters of Defense CQD Mk I

I see the knife has been sharpened and someone bead/sand blasted the clip...

I can't believe I missed this thread considering my interest in the Dieter series MOD blades. You have yourself an early MOD CQD MKI before they added the glass breaker. The very cool thing about your knife is the matte clip is most likely factory, which is really rare. I've probably seen two MOD CQD MKI's with matte clips in my life (yours, and the one on my rare Damascus model). I thought maybe they used the matte clips for the early matte gray blade versions to get the finish to match but even those examples I've seen around the web have black clips. I haven't found a pattern in matte clip usage aside from limited use early on in production.

It's funny, I remember when the glass breaker versions came out, the non-breaker versions were being sold at a steep discount because they were perceived as "not as cool" but now, these are much rarer than the more common glass breaker models. Same goes for the matte gray blade versions.
