As I am currently loaning this knife from Nemo, any opinions on this blade? How well does it stand up to general use and any comments would be greatly recieved.

Thanks

W.A.

I owned a MOD CQD. It was one of those "I've got to have it moments." It's a good looking knife but I found it too cumbersome, so I sold it. For me the blade was too small for such a large handle and not sharp enough. I did like the plunge lock, but I found no practical use for the ATAC support blade. In my mind, if I had to quickly cut a seatbelt or other webbing, I'd rather use the main blade. For practical use I would rather go for a MOD Tempest or better yet, a Microtech SOCOM elite.

I have an auto that I love. My wife surprised me with it and it's been my favorite work knife ever since. It is a bit big for every-day carry (but I do that a bunch also

). It's the perfect size for work, very stable with or without gloves, and since I have need to cut webbing off people and zodiac boats every once in a while, the webbing cutter is perfect.

For everyday carry, I'd recommend the CQD MarkII, same knife, just smaller and with a glass breaking stud instead of the webbing cutter.

I also have a Hornet. It is an excellent little knife for every day carry. Both knives sharpen easy and hold an outstanding edge.

And, of course, since the wife sells 'em, I'd have to recommend her for the purchase

Hope this helped

It's a great knife Wayne....a great tool, but very large and bulky for daily carry. The auto is much more nicer for opening than the manual. You may want to hold out for the mid-size version, which will be out in a few weeks as I am told.

Lemme know if your friend

in the USA needs to obtain you one.

Is the smaller MKII going to have a blade more similar in size to the handle than the larger MK I?
