Hi, I'm making my first foray into the auto otf knives market, and I was wondering what are the pros and cons of both the MOD harkins triton and the piranha excalibur.

I've seen youtube videos showing the excalibur rattling while closed, and i've read a thread on knifeforum saying that the piranha sucks, and another one saying it is as good as a sand shark.

I haven't heard much of the triton, so I was hoping for some insight on that knife.

I don't want a microtech makora since it is a really big knife, and I've heard the benchmade infidels aren't so good. I would like to get a ultratech or a troodon, but I can't find any instock, and most of the ones at the sale's section are gone or don't accept paypal.

If you guys have any suggestions i'd greatly appreciate it!

well, the only bad thing i've ever heard about the triton is that the original maker, jeff harkins who origanlly made the custom triton which is what the MOD triton is based on, wasn't very happy with the profuction model...that's about all I've heard on the triton...an ultratech would be a good knife...try blade hq or 888 knives r us, or tinysusa...i don't know how many of them accept paypal...888 for sure though, just call or email them so they know to send you a paypal email

IIRC the triton isnt much smaller than the makora, unless ya are talking about the new makora, the old one and the triton were about the same size.

never have liked the triton, always liked the MT's "looks" better than the triton,
