Dear Friends,

Since I first arrived in here...you got me adicted to blades!!! but unfortunatelly money is not enough for everything for this reason I ask for your help.

What do you consider a better folder:

Masters of Defense Hornet (154CM)

or

BlackHawk Crucible (ATS-34)

i consider both pretty good,but are totally different animals.:) depending on your need the hornet is a smaller folder than the crucible. the crucible is like having a mini strider AR. the older hornet are limited in how you can carry it due to being just tip-down carry. where as the crucible has four postion carry. of course if you want an auto only the hornet can be got. no auto for the crucible.:D hopes this helps.

It would be interesting to know a general opinion about the quality of both folders...since I only know that they are pricey...good looking (to my eyes of course)...made of good materials...and that is it...
 
I have owned both and Jack I belive currently owns my Crucible I traded him. The Crucible is probably one of the better liner locking knives I have seen. Fit and finish is second to none. As good as the SERE 2k which I consider bordering on custom quality for a prod. folder. The grip ergo's are better on the Crucible, deployment is very smooth and easy. It is a big knife too. I can't say a bad thing about it. I am just into framelocks now though.

The Hornet is of the same quality of build. Although a smaller knife and tip down carry. The blade cuts bigger than it would suggest too and I think that has to do with the width of the blade. It is just a "big" blade in a small package. Lock up on the ones I have owned have been excellant too.

Now which one would I buy first, I would get the Hornet. I think it would make a slighlty better edc knife just due to it size. More sheeple friendly if that means anything to ya. Both are about the same price I think via the net. So take your pick either way it is a win win situation. keepem sharp
