Mod Opinels - a journey or not?!

Hello my dear friends,

Quite some time ago i modded few Opinel knives on a friend's request and not ever since i paid attention to this anymore until few days ago when by chance i was gifted a No8 carbon. Right when i saw it the idea of modding again came into my mind hence the first of the new 'era' arouse :D - African Safari.

Now as i have no experience if this kind of knives would be well received on the market and if this idea deserves more attention i kindly ask for your personal/professional advice if this should be a new journey or just a 'one shot' - what do you say?

Thank you very much for your precious time!

All the best, God bless,
Bogdan

From your "African Safari" post I read this description of your "upgrades" ~

carbon steel opinel blade - cod blued
- stainless steel collar - acid etched
- African king ebony handle - cnc machined and hand turned on lathe - with a slim and classy profile
- Special feature - as it is known that the Opinels tend to stuck when wet i decided to get rid of this somehow issue and used phosphorous bronze washers (the blade action is now smooth and jam free)
-
it has a handmade pocket clip attached for ease of carry

The knife is nicely buffed and it's very sharp. It's useless to say that the knife is super light.

I think these details that you include only enhance an already wonderfully useful knife - making them even more EDC able.

Not sure as a business model this could work though - unless you can get all your OPINELS for free or by the box for a few Euros. I don't see as they can be a profitable product for you. Of course, I don't have all the information. Only you can decide that. I almost bought your AS version but I have soooo many knives and hated to bump something else out of my pocket. These though would be great gifts.

Everyone should own an OPINEL or the BOGDANEL version. :)
