Hey, i've got an old 1990's Spyderco Endura 1st gen full serrated model (aus 8a steel), the thing is i mostly haven't used it in almost 10 years. I'm more of a non-serrated blade kinda guy, that's why i use my Tenacious and Gayle Bradley instead of the Endura. the Endura is not mint, it has been used, but the lockup is tight with no wobble. I'm wondering if i should sell the Endura and buy a Centofante 3 or just keep the Endura and mod the blade (get rid of the serrations). What do you think?

I had a similar issue recently. I decided to put the blade into my car preparedness kit instead of really dealing with it. A serrated endura is great for feather sticks etc, and won't dull quickly either meaning it's a great survival blade.

Getting rid if the serrations means removing a lot of metal. If you like it, why not?

However, if anyone like the serrated version & it's useful for them & price is agreeable, why waste the steel?

It's your knife .. ;)

I'd hang on to it for a bit. There seems to be an increasing number of "vintage" Spyderco collectors that thrive off of the Spydies from the 80's and 90's. Who knows it may even gain a little value.

Sorry Mods i was not trying to sell my knife on the sly. If i was going to sell it i'd upgrade my membership and put it in the for-sale forum. So feel free to lock or delete this thread if you want.
I am not a Spyderco collector i just wanted input from the experienced Spyderco experts/collectors regarding whether modding would be ruining something collectible or rare-ish.

Thanks to those who replied, i think i'll just put her back in storage and just buy a Centofante 3!
