MOD Razorback

That's right, it's legally suspect to consider defending yourself these days. Better to call it a high-endurance utility sharpened prybar.

What you utilize that edge to pry off somebody ... I mean something -- is up to circumstances and who the winesses are.

Here's a link to a testimonial from an expert http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=193965 -- if he likes it, it should work. (But he's covered better than a civilian if he does use it.)

After all Billary made us all feel so much like Americans..nuff said..

Does the Razorback actually stay together better than the SUPERFOLDER--yeah rite-- Dieter CQD?? (yes I know the Razorback is a fixed blade)

And what about the "cutting edge" performance of MOD Customer Service??--

There is nothing in hell wrong with Massad Ayoob his group at all..

Ayoob Knows self defense...Maybe thats why the RazorBack IS a fixt blade.

MOD's knowledge of real bladesmithing is another matter..they got some pretty machinery and skatebord tape handles..for sure...dont count on the CQD not to rattle apart under the stress of the showcounter of a knife store..real combat..

LMAO.

Firstly. . .welcome to Blade Forums HOMEBOY.. . .2~double-aught~2.

Secondly, very interesting verbiage used in your description of the Razorback. . ."high precision killing instrument". Is this apposed. . .errr. . .I mean "opposed" to a "low precision killing instrument ?"

Personally, I've never used. . .nor had the opportunity to handle a Razorback. But, as your probably aware. . .we. . .err. . ."kNif kNut's are. . .shall we say. . .accustom to "high precision killing instroments !" ;)

I. . .for one. . .am highly gratefull that you're out there. . .with your Ayoob Razorback (aka. . .high precision killing instrument) protecting the innocent masses of Wash. . .DC !

Finally. . .is it scary before or after you open it ?

Man. . .I'm with Esav. . . You definitely need to tie-strap that baby to your ankle so to prevent detection of your cause !

Who exactly made the Razorback anyways? and what's their reputation?

the MOD arzorback is a fixed blade designed/i guess by mass ayyoob - it has about a 4" tanto blade, hard to get real sharp w/the factory bevels, but ya can rebevel it and get it razor sharp for sure - it is not a full tang knife, ie the tang does not extend all the way to the end of the handle, so, theoretically it isnt as strong as some, but seems to be strong enuff - i have 2 of them, wife carries one 24/7 in her purse, they seem to be ok, but i dont know if i wouldnt prefer my $25 CRKT companion, w/a custom sheath of course

the razorback is a good lookin knife imho

also nothing really special about it imho, its just ok, has a good sheath though from the factory, and now that the blades are boron carbide coated, and the coating doesnt just flake off of your knife, all is better for sure.............but nothing spec about it imho at all...........

sifu

Hm.... then would you think I'm better off with my 3" crawford kasper than the razorback?

I think the Razorback is a good quality knife, but for a fixed-blade defense knife I'd rather carry a Strider SA or DB.

Played with one of these and really was not the impressed by it. Found the handle a bit too smooth and cramped, and was not impressed by the sharpness/edge geometry at all. Mine was a VERY early production one, so the newer ones could be nicer.

Personally, i would rather spend the money on a bag of CRKT Companions and stash them around everywhere.
