Does anyone have one?
Impressions?
I like the concept and think it may fit a need of mine.

How is the Master of Defense line overall? Worth the money?

If they are worth it, best place to buy one?

Thanks!

Hello, I would suggest doing a search on the bladeforums for info concerning this knife, there is a fair amount of info out there.
From what I've read, some people feel the blade is too thick. If you're only using it for backup, and not cutting, then you should be okay, as far as price goes, a good deal of what you are paying for are very, very, very, tight tolerances in size. Parts might be accurate to something like .005 of an inch or less. I don't know the exact number, it might be on the website. IMO in a fixed blade such close tolerances don't make much of a difference. And the materials are top-notch also. So is it worth it? if you can find one second hand, almost certainly, New, probably. But be aware of what you are paying for, personally, I'd look elsewhere, you can even get a decent custom small fixed blade for that price. Look at www.iccknives.com for some similiarly prices options, there are others out there too.

Also, I own 2 MOD tridents, and I absolutely love them, the only complaint I've ever seen about them is that some feel the handle is a bit small. They aren't tiny, maybe those folks just have big hands.

I have handled one razorback, and I find the grip is full and feels secure in hand. The blade is very thick. This is due in part to Ayoob's preference to a "comma" cut, wherein the blade is inserted and twisted before pulling free. There are air grooves not only on each side of the blade, but on the very back edge. I personally love the design, but it lends itself to special purpose. I cannot justify paying $125 or more on one, as it is a fixed blade that I cannot carry concealed in my state. If it fits your needs, go for it! :D

It's a neat little "pit bull" of a knife. It's partial tang construction, but no one has ever reported it being broke. It's thick and thus limited as a utility knife, but then it's not designed for it. I find it intriguing, neat looking design, but I've only admired and played with them, never had one. It will probably be illegal in many places since it't a dagger or dirk purposefully built for combat.

Thanks for the info!

I haven't had any luck getting the search engine to work.

Will try again.

Thanks again.

From the MOD website: "the Razorback personal carry knife was designed with the input of forensic pathologists and medical examiners Ayoob works with as an expert witness and trained homicide investigator."
On second thought, I've never heard of a knife that was designed by Morgue workers..... Ewww..... :barf:
It's got to be wicked.

I have 2 Razorbacks: black blade and bead blasted blade. I use them as my SD knife when I hike, as they are fairly light and inconspicuous when carried horizontally (I added a mini Tek-lok to mine). As others have noted, this is a pure SD tool, and one of my favorite fixed blades. My only other experience with MODs is a Scorpion neck knife which I owned for a short period of time. I consider the Scorpion to be the worst knife I've ever purchased, since the handle is so small that it renders the knife almost impossible to use safely. The top edge of the blade is sharpened, which is normally a nice feature, except that there is no guard or any other feature to prevent you from placing your thumb directly on the sharpened edge. Nothing wrong with the materials or manufacturing - just a bad design. An accident waiting to happen.
