Mod Your Cold Steel Machetes

I couldn't find a section on machetes so here it comes - a nice improvement to the ugly black coating on the CS 'chetes ;)

I've done a few mods to CS machetes. Including putting a partial back edge on my two-handed panga. :D
 
I'm picking up a can tomorrow and doing mine. I oil it every time I use it and put it away anyway. I like the look of the steel, but I'll do a better job than that video. (I hope) :D
 
Use a green Scotch Brite pad instead of paper towels and it will look terrific. You can even hit it with some gun b
Ue, then sand off a layer, and do a double coat. They really turn out good.
 
An option to consider to maintain the bright appearance of the steel is to then apply a coat of clear lacquer. CS machetes rust up pretty quickly if the coating's removed due to their coarse finish. :)
