I own 23" and 14" fiskars axe/hatchet...They are really nice tools, i like the steel they use..they hold an edge really well and i just love that hollow composite handle..

I have heard talk of people grinding these tools down and modifying thier original thickness and profile..I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of modifyed fiskars hatchets/axes that they could post them so i could take a look and see if its somthing i want to pursue...

thanks!

Funny you should mention that.... I have a friends 14" hatchet right now soaking in vinegar / salt to get the crud off it. I'm going to reprofile the edge, probably pakerize it and make a kydex edge sheath for pack carry. Will post a picture when finished

Here is the Fiskar hatchet I cleaned up for a friend. Took the bottom corner off to give it a slightly rounded edge. Convexed the edge with a slack belt, re parked and used a scotch brite pad to take off the annoying logo. Hamon shows through the park Couldn't get anywhere near the stove today to make a kydex edge sheath like one I saw posted here before. Photographed with my favorite carbon steel Mora that is parkerized to defeat rust...best ten dollar knife on the planet. Simple belt loop hanger makes it much easier to carry.
