First, I’d like to thank
Don't drop it.
for giving me the opportunity to own this modded battle saw for pretty cheap. I’ve been wondering for quite a while what a battle saw would look and feel like if the teeth were removed and this was the perfect test subject.
After comparing it to a “stock” battle saw, I was able to gauge how much dead steel to remove so it would be as if just the teeth were removed, even added a little ghetto nuclear-ness to the spine. This was done over the course of almost 2 months on a low speed grinder, dunking the blade into water after every 2-3 passes.
It feels much more lively in the hand without the teeth. The stock blade has g10 but this one has solid brass pins. So I’m not sure how much weight was shed exactly, but I you can definitely feel it.
Next step I’m thinking of adding a pommel of some sort to the sides of the rear tang, along with a removable aluminum knuckle guard.
This is my first experience really modifying a blade so it’s not perfect by any means but I did learn alot. Used PPE with a face shield and filter, but I’m still wiping metal dust off things, seems to have gotten on virtually everything.
All in all, I’m very pleased with the results, and can’t wait for the next project.
Pics if you’re into that sorta thing.

Some photoshop fun.
