A fingerprint magnet it was. I gave the brass bolsters a "brushed" look with some 440 wed/dry sandpaper. I think it looks a lot better, and no more fingerprints. :)

Mr. Houser has advised me that I technically voided the warranty, but, since what I did does not affect the functionality, they would not refuse to fix a defect. I just can't have it re-polished. Not that I ever would, I have a 50th Anniversary for a "go to meetin'" or show off knife.
 
I really voided the warranty on mine. It started an hour after I got it. There was a slight recurve on the edge, so that got ground out (by hand) and reprofiled.

After that, I draw-filed the bolsters until they were flat. I could not stand how wavey they were. I could really feel those little rivets when the temperature got around freezing. So they got filed down.

It's my favorite knife, and I'll never send it in. I'll just retire it and buy another one.
 
Buck did some Build Outs with Brushed brass bolsters. They were available at the 25th BCCI Rendezvous.
