I've gotten interested in modded SAKs and picked up a few on the Exchange recently (the red, green, black, and titanium ones in the photo). An ALM has been on my radar and I finally snagged one (titanium). I like it a lot. I'm not sure who did the other mods but they are nice too. The screw construction of the modded SAKs really appeals to me.

Is ALM still doing mods? The website and Facebook page are dead.

Coincidentally, I was also looking for someone reputable to add an Electrician sheepsfoot blade to a Pioneer X or add a pair of scissors to an Electrician.

Unfortunately, Syph doesn't appear to have been active on here since June. His website is here: http://www.sakmodder.com.

I'd really like to get my ALOX's done, but he doesn't seem to be doing them any more (I wonder why?). I'd been sitting on this little project for a while now and had his website bookmarked, looks like the 93mm ship has sailed and I unfortunately missed the boat.

Is there anyone else who is reputable for SAK modding?

There is a guy I follow on Instagram who does a lot of SAK mods and seems like beautiful and interesting work. His handle on there is @imodsak. As far as I know he works exclusively via Instagram -- no website. I don't believe he's taking orders now but he posts new stuff for sale all the time.

Here's a link to his IG page:

I overpaid for one on eBay, well, just because it was an impulse. These things happen, right? Blue textured titanium covers and brass liners. A super-tinker, I believe. No photos yet as it is enroute (I hope). Sakmodder was the man who did it, if I recall.

I saw those blue titanium ones on eBay but they were too rich for me. I paid $140 for the ALM titanium (bottom in the photo) and that's about my ceiling for a modded SAK. I'm sure you'll enjoy it though; I really like all my examples. These don't always seem to be readily available so buy while you can. I've jumped on all the ones I've seen for a price I was willing to pay.

I think my black Wenger (looks dark blue in the photo) was done by ALM too. I was sorting through my knife boxes and saw that one came in an ALM drawstring bag. I'm still not sure who did the red and green ones though. The green one has a plain grey titanium scale on the opposite side.

On a side note, my wife love's the Tiffany's model I got her for her birthday this year. Her name is Tiffany and she's obsessed with Tiffany's. I also bought her the purple knife and the mini-champ for myself at the Victorinox store in Geneva, Switzerland on a work trip over the summer.

Bob Lessard Stopped doing mods?

I hope not. I have a Wenger that I would like to have mods done on. Any one else you guys can recommend?

I don't believe he's stopped doing mods in general, just on the 93mm ALOX models.

I no longer work on alox 93mm at all. I do the occasional Titanium scale set for that size SAK, but I don't make custom backsprings or any other parts for that size. Right now I specialize in converting 91mm SAKs to a Ti scale or brass scale set.

I have a Lessard 91mm in Brass and an ALM Ti. Not sure what ALM is up to since I don't see any sales on ebay or through social media.

Lessard is the gold standard when it comes to modified SAKS. I had a couple from @imodsak on Instagram, and the tolerances were shitty. The communication with him wasn't that great either. But he is Affordable. Lessard made me an incredible one. Something I consider an heirloom piece. Totally customized to my wants. The brass liners are beautiful.

Very expensive though.
