A while back I tried to make some micart handle scales for my ti-lite. They worked, but I managed to break the backspacer in the process, so the pivot wouldn't work correctly. The lock became too hard to disengage with one hand, rendering it useless.

I thought, "Crap. Now I have a fixed blade with a weak handle." Immediately after this I realized I could just ditch the weak handle, so... I did.

The 4" blade became a 4.5" OAL neck knife with roughly 2 inches of cutting edge.

I redid the old micarta handles, attaching them with 2-ton epoxy and a 1/8" micarta rod through the old pivot hole.

That looks like a professional job. Nice work.

Heh, thanks, but a closer look will show a couple flaws. I bumped the blade with the sander while trying to flush the micarta with the metal, leaving little scratch spots. Not horrible, but not perfect either. The micarta could probably use a bit of polishing with finer sandpaper, too...
