After taking a long hard look at it I decided that the looks on this piggy could be improved. The hump was reduced to form a harpoon tip. After stripping off the coat, some real ugly grind marks were revealed which, alas, I didn't take shots of. It took a lot of patience and a spray bottle to keep things cool at the sander to take them off and then convex the edge.

When the grinds and edge were finished, it was time to etch; war pig on one side, stylized flames on the other side. I had a lot of fun doing this, and now it's lacking a proper sheath which I will begin making tomorrow. Please excuse the crappy cell phone pics, as my snapbucket has been acting up lately.

Put a Noveske logo on it and you have the Flaming Pig of the cutlery world!

lol I had to google "noveske pig" to get that, I had no idea!

for the etching I cover the blade in acid-resitant ink, let it dry for 1-2 days then scratch out the design, followed by a dunk in a vase filled with pcb etchant (mild acid)

Good to know. Might want to try that sometime.
