This my moddified wave, took the parts from a LM kick.

1. Removed the bit holder from de wave and put the philips driver from the Kick.
2. Removed the little bit holder and put the long flat screwdriver from the Kick, this was a tight fit, because the flat sd is thicker than the small bit holder.
3. Bend the little tabs insde the handles, so it can close.
4. File the tip of the long screwdriver 1/16" so it doesn't interfire with the scisors.

All i need now is the bit adapter for the kick

...and i see you attached a laptop to it...nice thinking...

seriously looks cool though

I like it alot. Maybe you could send the picture to leatherman and see if they'd make a wave like that. I like the bit driver but since I rarely use anything more than a phillips or a flat head I'd like to have screwdrivers that reach.

I just seen that laptop at Best Buy yesterday. I wanted to get it... I'm jealous  Seriously though, cool mod and awesome laptop  .

Hmmm.....it does look really cool doesn't it?

I beginning to wonder if the same Kick tools will work on a modified Surge.

Anybody try that yet? Anybody with a beat-up old LM-Kick willing to try?

Really nice mod. I'd much rather have your config than the stock. The bit adapter, should it be needed, is inexpensive and fits over the Phillips with extra length. Beats the stock holder, IMO.

That's why i did it, longer reach and most used is flat or philips.

And if sometime i need to send my LM to warranty, this mods can be reversed... :)

I did the same mod to my wave only instead of filing the srewdriver, I used a dremel tool to cut a small section of the scissor tab off. You did a great job with your mod. It looks great. Maybe Leatherman will catch on and make it that way in the future.

It was easier to grind the screwdriver, and this way i can go back to original and claim warranty if needed...

I have the torx drivers, but they don't work on my Wave because of the little piece sticking up in the middle of the screws. What did you use to take your wave apart? And also, what did you use to take apart your kick?

Nice! Looks like I might have to get myself a Wave now. Do the transplanted tools lock open like the other ones on the Wave?

ElCuchillo: You need security Torx drivers T10H, for the kick i use 2 quality pliers.
Matt-man: The tools lock in the same way, no mods nedded.
