I bought three knives recently that I have been considering for quite some time, one of which is an 18" Ontario machete with a traditional handle. In examining the handle it appears to have made to cause pain for my gnarled little hands. I immediately decided I was going to alter the handle to suit me.
I've considered several approaches and patterns. After a lot of looking around I came across the BarkRiver Golok. It looks narrow enough to fit the material the tang gives me to work with. I realize ,of course, I'm not going to make a BRKT Golok out of an Ontario machete,I just want to use a similar tang shape and contour the handle to be comfortable.
What I would like is a picture of an Ontario machete handle right next to a BKRT golok so I can see if it's feasible, even better a BRKT golok laid atop an Onterio machete so I can see if it will work.If anyone wants to write in the golok handle dimentions as well that would be great.
Many Thanks In Advance
