Hi, first time here and newbie to knife making.
Looking for a bushcraft knife and love the Skookum Bush Tool, however, it's out on my price range.
I've always been a DIY guy so building my own knife appeals to me.
The Enzo Trapper looks perfect except for the rear. The angled base doesn't allow for batonning into trees.
Has anyone modified an Enzo Trapper blade; cutting the rear of the tang flat and tig welding a pommel on, obviously before installing the scales?
Basically grafting a Skookum base onto a Trapper.

Tig Welding, along with using an aluminum heat sink, should minimize thermal transfer down to the blade section so the treat treating shouldn't be affected.
