Modding GFN scales

Howdy, I’m planning on modding a Knife for a friend. The knife has GFN scales on it. Being New to this, I’m curious. Can you add texture to these scales like you can with Micarta or G10?

It's a nylon polymer mixed with glass fiber and then injection-molded into the desired shape. You can file it or dremel it or use a soldering iron to stipple it but it melts so be careful
