Modding the ESEE 4 Pommel

Hey,

I don't really like the rounded pommel on the ESEE 4. Is there any way I can make it into a skull crusher/glass breaker on the ESEE 3/5? What tools would you suggest? I would have gotten the 3, but it's a little to thin for my liking. The 5 is too big for EDC.

I mod'ed the pommels of a couple of my Beckers making them more pointy.

I used the 9" disc sander of the woodshop's benchtop belt/disc sander.

Since handles are typically not hardened as much as the blade, it's relatively easy to do. And, since it's far from the blade, there's little to no concern of damaging the blade's heat treat.

A popular mod on the 'Tweener' BKs is to cut the lanyard slot into a bottle opener like on the BK11. That way you can use one of the points to bust out the window to get to the brewskis and then open one. ;)
