Excellent! I thought it was, but I'm more impressed with your hawk!

I want to keep mine stock (at least a smooth handle) for a smooth release when throwing...
Your's looks like it would be excellent for chopping, etc...

savagesicslayer,

If you were asking me, the handle came that way...
I have gotten 6 handles from Cold Steel in the past, this was the first one that color...
I didn't like it when I first saw it, but after I fitted it... now I like it...
I was thinking of calling next time I need more handles, and specifically asking for darker-colored handles...

I think he probably used something like a small blow-torch to get the dark lines in the handle. It looks like he used one to lightly singe/burn the darkness into the handle, and then probably went over it with a light stain.

I could be completely wrong but just from eyeballing it and having worked a little bit with wood projects, that's how i would think to do it.

How do you guys get the parachord to stay on the handle? are you guys using some sort of heavy duty glue?

So you use a small torch then to get that pattern on the handle.that's cool.I have one on the way and I plan on giving it a tiger stripe look.
midnite-penguin: I put a wrap of hockey tape under the cordage on the handle.it gives it something to bite into to.But that's just me.
