Modding the new Recon 1

I was looking around on the Cold Steel website and I really like the 2010 Recon 1 but since they don't come in a Satin finish I guessed I would just take it off. Anybody taken a coating off a Cold Steel blade before? If so could you chime in and tell me worked and didn't. The TRI-AD looks pretty neat too.
 
I totally would go for a satin recon 1 with a TRI-AD lock to boot. I wanted to strip the teflon paint off my recon 1 with the ultra lock but I really can't take it apart.
 
I'll be honest I used a buffing wheel and compound (white rougue). Came out semi polished, but looks great. The blade has a stonewashed finish otherwise.
