I know CS puts some into fits but they have a polypro "rattan stick" that I'm trying to mod into a haft for my ATC V-Tac. Trying to make it a bit longer for more velocity in swing. I like a solid body haft (Sorry Vec) and I'm trying for a cap that reaches out to the edge of the head, meaning the head cant be pulled off no matter how much force is put against it. I'm using a hardend steel bolt to hold the cap in place but I need a little help with making the anchor it screws into stay in the shaft. its got retaining "spurs" on it but You mod nuts surely have some kind of epoxy or cement that you use on plastics to anchor it in place forever! Clue me in..I'm trying for a hawk I cant destroy! Thanks all..In advance! anrkst

I asked someone before about the size of the eye used in the VT. I don't think that it will provide you the level of strength you desire using the materials you planned to use.

You might concider a horizontal bolt (or threaded pin if you prefer) to hold the other bolt and VT head onto the haft. sort of an inverted T, at least that way you will get the strength of the bolt and the duribility of the haft material against the bolt pressure, and whatever synthetic you make up the gaps with. You will have to put a hole into the "rattan" but i think it would provide you the most solid connection with the materials you limited the discussion to.
