I turned my Lansky standard sharpening system into a "modified wicked lansky sharpening system."
The first knife I want to sharpen is a Kershaw Clash with 8Cr13MoV steel.
What angels and micro angles should I use? (It is very similar to the wicked edge system)
The stones are 120,280,600,and 1000.

I like any of my regular blades to have a 25 degree angle, but that's just my preference. To me, it's a nice balance of sharpness to lasting edge.

25° inclusive or per side? If 25dps that's incredibly obtuse for most purposes, I'd only use a 25dps on a blade that's primarily used for chopping and won't hold up with a more acute edge.

15dps is what I use on most of my knives, 25 is just plain too obtuse.
I have to agree, my bk9 is 30° inclusive, my bk2 is 34° inclusive, my tops bob is 22° inclusive and each holds up fine to hard use like chopping and batoning.

My edc schrade schf14 is 24° inclusive with a 17dps micro bevel. I think the most obtuse edge I have among all my knives is 40° inclusive.

My axes are the only thing 25-30dps.

Most knives sharpened at 25 degrees on the Lansky will be closer to 20 or so actual angle. It produces decent results that way. 25 actual degrees is pretty obtuse.

How are you measuring angles? With an angle cube?

I just got an actual Wicked Edge a few weeks ago and I've been sharpening everything at 20* per side.

That angle seems really close to factory on a lot of Benchmades and Spydercos so far.

I have a protractor app on my Galaxy S5, I also have a magnetic angle finder that I picked up at lowes.

Here is the youtube video from the person I based my lansky from.

How accurate is your phone? Does it read in single degrees or does it read to the tenths place? (Like 20.5)

How about a Wicked Apex Lanksy? I made this from some brackets I had laying around as a prototype but I plan to make one from wood. Like an angled wooden box to store the stones and hardware then the top of the box becomes the tool. I like this because I’m really only coordinated enough to work the stones with my right hand and I find that with this arrangement, I can just work from the side and reach over the tool to get at both sides of the bevel.

I never saw the video posted above but find it interesting the the guy came up with the same method of securing the tubing (cable ties) to the top of each Lansky stone. I also used Epoxy to secure the aluminum. One thing I wouldn’t do again is to use aluminum tubing. It works OK but I found that the plastic bodies from old Bic pens fit the ¼” rod perfectly and allowed for smooth sliding. I had the idea before I used the aluminum but then had a brain fart and forgot the idea! Doh! :p
