I’ve scoured the forums and the net for two days to answer this question, but I’m coming up empty-handed so I figured I’d ask the experts. None of the Buck date code charts that I’ve found show when my 112 was manufactured, and I’d like to be able to provide that info when I list it for sale. Any help would be much appreciated. I believe I bought it in the late 70s or early 80s, but I didn’t keep accurate records back then because I was a stupid kid. Here are some photos:

Ok, the dots were what was throwing me off since the number of dots weren’t matching up with any of their charts. Thanks for enlightening me on that, I appreciate it!

My 112 from 1987 has a dot inside the date stamp code. I don't know the exact meaning of the dots but it can range from testing the hardness to marking something to ensure a process change was followed.

Here is the date code H Happy Hippo refers to. This one is special to me because it is my very FIRST Buck knife.
It would be another couple decades before I became a collector of and knew or cared about date codes.

I bought a 703 new in 1989 (It was my first Buck. -- EDIT -- I knew this sounded wrong. It was my second, 15 years after I bought my 110.) and until a few years ago I thought it was a "703V". 😁

Most of my pre-date code 422s have a dot on them. Also, most of my 1987s have dots on them. A few 1987s do not have the dot on them. Does this mean that they will become sentient and stab me whilst I am sleeping?

I once had a knife called Bucklite,
With the number four twenty two.
With no dot, it just isn't right
But what does this dot do for you?
There was lots of trouble that day
With the knives on the factory floor -
Waking up much to Buck's dismay,
With cutting and stabbing and more.
Craftsmen at Buck knew what to do.
They ran to the assembly spot.
With a hammer and a punch too,
They pounded on a small dot.

Turns out, the dot rids them of thought.
