Ed, Welcome. Could you remembered the purchase date a little off? That 119 was a special mfg. run by Buck ( Limited Edition)and those were made in 1990. I don't know how many were mfg but somebody else here will. The blade steel is of 425M and I hope you haven't used it and still have the box. I hear its been dry out your way. DM

I do have the box but i dont have the receipt probably.on the side of box reads special/cocobola.model119BR (cat.#1672)the scaner# it says 0 33753 01672 1.I have never used it.but when i bough it i took to a man sharpened professionaly for me.my son was born in nov. 1990.and i have had it before that date.

Hi David,

Question: is it possible that some of the LE 119 have the 1989 date stamp?
Or are knives with the V from another Edition?

Best,
Haebbie

I assume we are talking about two different knives here.

The 119 BR was originally done in the late 1980's as a special project for Cabela's (I believe) with brass fittings a Fibron cocobola handle and a polished blade. This knife was then reissued with a satin blade in another special project for Cabela's and then became a standard catalog item.

The 119 CA was originally done for Cabela's as a special project starting in 1990 with the stacked leather handle, aluminum fittings and a satin blade. The first version of this knife had a thin guard. The remaining versions from subsequent orders had the standard guard. This knife was also done for the Cuttlery Shoppe in Boise, Idaho in the mid 1990's (200 - 300 Pcs.).

Hope that helps.

Another copy and paste to Word post, Richard.
