Is the model 14 handle over built, is it necessary to have that extra bit of tang? Are the Randall 'cut down tang' handles on the 14 and all other Randall knives inferior? Were they breaking that often that a semi full tang was needed?

Just asking the question because I would assume that the extra weight forward and not having 01 against your sweaty hand would be a good thing.

I'm probably wrong in asking this, but don't the majority of knives (of all makes) break near the tip or in the blade?

Thanks for your feedback.

Hello sepcat, I would have responded to your post sooner but I was out and about. I started as a user of Randall made knves, then a collector, but now, a user again. I have use a CDT and a Full Tang. I never broke either. I did break my tip throwing my Randall in a tree. I like the CDT because it is a bit blade heavy but that is personal peference. I do like the full tang however in my dive knife, model 16. I hope I helped in a small way.:)
