I just found a Model 14 with white micarta handle, nickel hilt, black sheath and stainless blade. I guess since this is my second Randall, I am now on the road to being a collector. Can anyone tell me if the stainless blade is (hand forged) or is it a blank? I have read the literature from Randall, but I'm still a little confused. I currently own a Model 1 with a 5" blade in tool steel and am very happy with it, but I desired something a little more robust. Can't wait to get it into my grubby little paws. Just thought I would share.

It's forged,I think the only ones that ain't are the guardian, the saltwater fisherman's,and the throwing knife.Them 14's are nice,i've had mine nearly 15 years.

All right, let's just say that I like the size and feel of this knife, but I don't know if the color of the handle is for me or the black sheath. Regardless, my experience with "white" micarta has been that it tends to be a little on the yellow side. This handle is truly "white"...will this discolor with age or will it always look like cheap white plastic? I did not know if I was going to like the finger grooves, but they do feel comfortable. It looks like I may have to sleep on it for a while and decide if I want to keep it.

Sorry for another post. I decided to send it back and put one on order for future delivery. I came to the conclusion that the finger grips just did not fit my hand, so the one on order is going to be of the single finger grip variety...I guess a one year wait isn't to bad. Anybody with the single finger grip? Pros or cons? Thanks....

I have a single finger grip 14, and I like it a lot, although I wish it filled the hand a little more. The single finger is really a fighting design. My next Randall will have a Border Patrol grip to take care fo that issue.

The knife is great, and I plan to have it as my priamry field knife upon commissioning.

Just would like to thank everybody that gave me some input as well as reading these posts. I decided to go with a Model 3 with a 7" blade and stag handle with a couple of other extras. I made up my mind that I really needed a good outdoor knife and that the 14 was just to much knife for what I really needed. So I guess I have to wait for my new knife to show up. This is one crazy addiction...I know that I will have a 14 in the collection in the future and I'm already looking to find a #8....sheesh, I guess you just can't have one knife.
