Model 18 crutch tip scam

Howdy!

I was recently offered a Randall 18 crutch tip w/riveted split back sheath from a Russian (!) ebay user. The price was too good to be true, of course, but it was awfully tempting. I almost sent some money via Western Union when I got exactly the same offer on the same knife from another Russian ebay user! Have any of you received similar offers?

Being fool enough to almost get taken, I feel compelled to let others know about this apparent scam--beware!
 
I got it too, from a a fellow named Pavel(or something close). He was asking in sub $200 range.
 
AWFULLY TEMPTED myself when I received the same offer. After long and carefull thought I decided it was too good to be true. For broken up English, "Pavel" sure had the description nailed down pretty good.:grumpy:

I got the same email.
Funny thing is, I remembered that knife selling on ebay.
I also know the person that sold the real knife on ebay.
This Russian guy is using the same picture ( copied from ebay).

I told the Russian to send me the knife and upon inspection I would send him 500.00 for his trouble.
He emailed me back and called me dishonest.

How many people sent money?
If it sounds too good........
