Model 18 Sheath Color

I am new to Randall collecting. There are 2 Model 18's on EBay. Both have Black Sheaths. I swear I have seen Model 18's with Brown Sheaths. If I am correct and there were brown sheaths, when did Randall switch to the black sheath and does the brown sheath add value or at least date the knife?

Hi, both sheath colors are correct - black sheaths have been an orderable option since 1968...if you subscribe to the 'options add value' theory then the black is more valuable. Personally I like the brown versions...YMMV

Thank you. Too many variables for this old man to keep in his head. I too prefer the brown.
