Hello, I'm new here. What do you all think of the model 311, I've carried one for 30+ years and have one mint on the shelf.

Great knife!

It was actually made by Camillus under contract, I used to have a rare one with a SFO "Winchester" shield one it.

Just some info. for owc55. 311's were Camillus,as TLC said, Ran 1972 to 1992. There are four models for collectors to have a standard set. One with Made in USA and model # on reverse of tang, BUCK 311 USA on tang and one with the USA mark but some plastic "part" in blade well, usually a cylinder placed in a hole in center brass spacer. (You will have to kiss a lot of pigs to find a princess and get that one.) and one was a special run for Winchester with the Winchester logo stamped on handle scale shield. Prices are still fair on lightly used knives. MIBs and Winchester shield a little higher.
Originally valued as a skinner, especially by Muskrat trappers. But "thin" tang area can lead to breakage by hard twisting by user. Long length led some to carry in rear pocket beside billfold. FYI and good luck.

I sold the 311 with the "Winchester" sheild, but did keep this 301 from the SFO.

Kinda wish I had kept the 311.

I will watch for a real good bargain and let you know about it. I am thinking of put the 301 and 311 in a dark box and seeing if I can come up with a 303.

:-$

I accidently left a Buck 110 and a Sebenza in a box together, 9 months later I found this little fellow!

Thanks for the info guys....
I have the Buck 311 U.S.A tang stamp.
Does this indicate the date of manufacture?
Or if it was a contract knife?

That tang should be from between 1971 and 1985, and all Buck 311's were contract knives.
