Here is the next knife I plan on sending to my test team, (emails were sent out this morning.) I just call this one the Model 5.

This one is not for sale, but I am taking orders for mid January delivery. Price, with any of my standard handle materials (those can be seen on my website), will be $150 + $6 shipping, including a leather pouch type sheath. If anyone is interested in placing an order, email me at jkiedaisch@sbcglobal.net and I will start a preorder list.

7 1/2" overall

3 1/2" blade

1/8" thick O1 steel

Osage handles with aluminum pins

There is a "flaw" in the right handle slab, that popped up while sanding it, it looks like some sort of vein in the wood.

Nice!

I like the drop point design. I wouldn't say that figuring in the wood is a flaw, more of a beauty mark ;^)

I like the look of that one plenty and would agree with Andy, that's no flaw that's character!

I like it!

Was thinking about picking up some Osage scale blanks that I came across.
How is it to work with, and any advice on finishing?

Lanyard looks spot on to me John. Really nice design make one hell of a all around outdoors blade

good looking little blade. can't wait to test her out. put a fire steel loop on the sheath imo! I'm really digging these osage handles

hun, didn't notice waht ti was but now you say it it does create a different look, I like it, better? in this case yes, for looks, i wonder if it would have any effect on a lanyard.

also another vote for osage, it's great to works and a very rich wood when you see it in person, deep color and grain, nice all around!

I received the knife just before Thanksgiving - I was able to take some snaps with my wifes phone camera (just wanted to see how that camera does...) -

Not too bad - not as vivid as I like, but maybe with a little fiddling - it is a Samsung Galaxy S3 bby the way -

And then I took some pictures with my Nikon -

Then I did a little setup - I did not have good light this morning at sun-up (I tried...) so I went indoors.

This is a fine mid-sized knife that I think would be very popular with the woodcrafters -

Great looking knife.

I like your carvings, Andy, that's really cool. Gonna carve some action figures to go with those little guns? :p

thanks for the pictures, we had a Nikon for about 3 months before it broke on my wife, never could figure a way o send it for repairs :(

That knife does look super handy on the other hand, neat little gun carvings to!

Thanks guys -

The carvings are not my work - I found them in a cigar box at a garage sale - I have several more - they are really well done!

I need to get some basswood and try my hand at a little gun!
