Hello and thanks in advance,

I'm looking to get a replacement screw set for my 710 and am having difficulty. Are any other models similar enough to get a screw set for one of them?

Respectfully...

have you tried calling benchmade? they’ll usually send you out a set of screws under their warranty. the only thing they won’t send is the female half of the pivot

No, I haven’t. I guess I wouldn’t have thought that anyone would do that with a knife this old. I will certainly give it a shot. Thanks.

I doubt the screws were all that specific to the 710, some of the ones that Benchmade uses currently might fit, it's definitely worth a shot giving them a call and asking.

i don’t know if regular screws would fit, the 710 had an older style screw that i think they stick with on all the regular production versions. still worth calling them tho, i’ve heard stories of them going way above & beyond to help customers out

If we’re talking about body screws, the stock 710 body screws are long, flat panhead screws which go completely from one scale, through liners and backspacer, and thread into a nut pressed into the opposite scale. I do know they are the same screw used in the 520/5000 series knives, because I’ve had to swap them in a bind, but that would make sense, as they are models from the same era. More recent models usually have short screws that come in from both sides and thread into central standoffs or backspacers, or into threaded cap tubes. In other words, I’m not sure if there is an equivalent to the 710’s body screws being used on recent models, but I still think it’s worth contacting them to ask. Who knows, they may have tons of them left on hand.
