Just received a FB from the auction place and not 100% sure on model. Looks like Arete but not exactly. Most comfortable handle I have ever held! I think I have a thing for Spearpoints.
Thanks,
Bill

I would say your suspicion is correct. Looks to be an older model with a full handle. Nice score. :)

I watched that one thru the auction, I'd say you scored an older Arete. Congratulations!

btw, that Bushfinger with the jade G-10 and spalting is SICK!!

Definitely an older Arete Bill. They all undergo subtle changes over time in production, but that's definitely an Arete.

Nice that you have one of Bryan's old SEREs. That was a variant of one of the designs I drew out for him. What Bryan lacks in finesse, he makes up for in heart, durability, and boy can that man put a scary edge on a knife...

Thank you guys. Yeah that one kept going up and up but the spearpoint and contour of the handle had my attention. I am really liking it and look forward to working it some.

Bryan,
Yep, I got to handle his orange handled one and made some very slight changes to suit me and he ground it out :) Not the one ot take on a date but it is a rough duty workhorse ;)

Are yall talkin about Bryan breedan? Cause that looks like some of his earlier stuff

Hi Bill,

That is an Arete for sure and old school with that moderately thick handle. It is a beautiful looking knife for sure. I hope you enjoy it.

Bryan makes a good rough duty knife with nice full handles. He is also a great guy to talk to. I need to call him again soon.

Yes, Bryan and I worked on a couple of collabs together, then I drew out three designs that he made for a while: Warthorn, One-Zero, and Sojourner back in 2008 and 2009. We called them Bryan & Brian Designs :) His knives in a lot of cases were much more function than form, as he saw no need to put the extra work in it to just have to charge more for it. He was aiming to keep his knives affordable user knives. My Sojourner was my favorite from him. I need to see if he is willing to make another or has time for it. He got out of it for a while being too busy in his other work.

That is an Arete. Definitely a nicely used one. Love the pics of your knives too. THanks!

Thank you Andy- my lightbox is incomplete and very dirty ;)

I am a sucker for spearpoints and this Aretes' handle is money! I am thinking this and the 12" machete I have coming are going to make a nice pair.
