Hello, I wanted to post an order I just finished up. This is a 9" chef and matching 4 1/2" utility knife set for a customer. This is my first chef knife, so I learned a few things along the way. I am happy with the way it came out, but would be interested in feedback. The customer wanted this as a gift for someone, so they upgraded to the optional piggyback leather sheath.
This is my Model K1 chef, and will be the general purpose chef knife. I will probably be doing a Model K2 with a thinner tip, and more geared to finer work. I will also offer S35VN steel as an upgrade. The wood was obtained from Faron Moore, @ http://www.burlsandblades.com/servlet/StoreFront . I spoke with Mike, and he was very helpful, and got the order out immediately. I will have to do a Feedback thread on the experience, as he went above and beyond to help me out.
The sheath is probably overkill, but the customer wanted something to really set it off, as it was a gift, and this is what I came up with. Although unnecessary, as the sheath will never see field use, it is fully formed and fitted to the knives, and they lock in quite nicely. Overall I am very pleased with the set, and the customer was very happy. Please feel free to comment, as I am new to chef knives, and welcome constructive criticism. Thank you.
